It’s Officially Wedding Season

Welp, today’s the first day of Summer and wedding season is apparently now in full swing. Yesterday my sister’s wedding invitation that I illustrated and designed arrived in the mail, and I couldn’t be happier with it! And I can finally post photos of it, now that all the invited guests have received theirs! I’ve been holding on to this little gem just waiting until I could post it on my blog. This weekend I’m planning to have a photo shoot with the invitation and the save the date invite I also designed, and then I’ll add it to my portfolio page. But I just had to post a few quick shots first! We’re still designing other pieces for the day of the wedding: menus, table numbers, etc. So expect all of that to pop up here on my blog around the beginning of November.

People have been Instagraming my designs, which makes me all giddy.

In other news, I’m currently working on another wedding invitation that I’m really thrilled about. The entire invitation set (invite, RSVP, and map) is completely hand-painted! I’ve designed and painted the invitation, and am now working on the map and RSVP cards. The map shows the ceremony venue, reception venue, and the hotels where guests can stay. All the venues are in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina (where I’m from), so its very nostalgic to be making this map and drawing historic Raleigh landmarks! I couldn’t ask for a better project. Here’s a few quick snapshots of some process work. Look out for the finals in the coming months!
